An Eclectic Home

Edinburgh, UK

2024

SCOPE

Creative direction, interior design, lighting, furniture and styling

A restaurant and rooms in Edinburgh shaped through shadow, crafted surfaces and a distinctly evening atmosphere.

A hospitality interior with a sense of ritual

Marlowe House occupies a narrow historic building whose imperfect walls and changing levels became the starting point for the design. New interventions are quiet, precise and deliberately easy to read against the existing fabric.

Low light, chalky plaster and dark-stained oak create intimacy without relying on theatrical decoration. Bespoke tables, soft upholstery and hand-thrown tableware give the restaurant a tactile identity.

The finished space feels established from its first evening: atmospheric, operationally clear and specific to the building that holds it.
